Resonance

Vibration as sculpture

In 2017 Lomans started an intensive research project with the Technical University Eindhoven in collaboration with Professor Ines Lopez Arteaga and an interdisciplinary student team. The research question: Everything in nature is eternally moving and vibrating. How to make this insight of the smallest particles in our universe palpable.

The outcome were enormous modern singing bowls with an Eigen frequency of 123 HZ.

Along with the presentation at the Dutch Design Week 2018 the text below was addressed to the public:

Resonance takes place on a micro scale up to the huge galaxies in our universe. It is perceived by our body in waves, from sound, vibration, to light through our retina. It is omnipresent.
